End of Summer Road Trip Destinations Outside Stettler
To some, September means back-to-school season, rubber boots, and pulling out the sweaters. To others, it means finally being able to relax in cooler temperatures while the sun is still out. Whatever type of fall-weather driver you are, there’s no time like the sunny early fall to get a few last road trips under your belt!
For the F-150 Owners: Get Off-Road
We know that the F-150 is one of the most fuel-efficient trucks of all-time, so that makes it one of the best road trip trucks of all-time. What better way to enjoy it than hitting the trails here and outside of Stettler for some offroading action? With the F-150, you can get off-road, or take your toys on the go with impressive towing and payload abilities.
Our suggested spot for exciting offroad action is Prairie Creek Recreation Area, located in Clearwater. We’re located about 2 hours from this gorgeous destination that isn’t just for off-roading. You’ll find camping spots, picnic areas, and more wildlife and greenery than you can shake a stick at (pun intended). On the way there, you’ll pass through some hidden gems such as Hillsdown and Sylvan lake, both of which are great for getting away from the hustle and bustle summer life can throw at us.
Escape to Red Deer in a Ford Escape
Red Deer is one of Alberta’s most enjoyable cities to visit, and for good reason. It’s home to many great attractions, has a beautiful landscape, nature galore, and a balanced city scene.
To get to Red Deer, it’s a quick 100 kilometres away from home here in Stettler; hit the highway and you’ll be there in an hour!
We suggest getting there in a Ford Escape. Why? With room for the whole family, a tent, and a fair amount of towing capacity for small campers and trailers, you’ll be able to bring the whole gang and everything that comes along with them! You can haul ATVs, kayaks, and more. Better yet, you can do it with Hybrid engine options that make the trip even more affordable than the already fuel-efficient
In and around your escape to Red Deer, you’ll find attractions such as Discovery Canyon Water Park, which is closing soon, so hop in the water while it’s still toasty enough! You’ll also find an abundance of natural areas such as Kerry Wood Nature Centre and Bower Ponds, which are open year-round and have different activities based on what season you’re visiting in!
